March 2026 PGSD school board recognitions!

What a night of celebration at the March 2026 Pascagoula-Gautier School District board meeting.
We were proud to recognize the Pascagoula High School Panthers basketball team as the MHSAA 6A state champions. With a 56-54 win over Terry, the Panthers secured the first state basketball title in program history. Congratulations to Coach Lorenzo Wright and the entire team on an unforgettable season and historic victory.
The board also recognized our 2026 STAR Students and STAR Teachers for their outstanding academic achievement and impact in the classroom. Congratulations to Gautier High School’s Oliver Everson and Cooper Kimbrell, and Pascagoula High School’s Seth Shuemaker and Victoria Waltman.
We also celebrated the success of NJROTC cadets from Pascagoula High School and Gautier High School at the Area-16 Drill Championship. Pascagoula High earned first place overall and an invitation to compete in the Navy National Academic, Athletic, and Drill Championship at NAS Pensacola, while Gautier High earned third place overall.
Two Gautier Middle School students were recognized for statewide honors in the Mississippi Poetry Project. Congratulations to Price Rogers, first place in seventh grade, and Tatem Morrow, honorable mention in seventh grade.
The CCTI Educators Rising program was another highlight, with every submitted project placing in the Top 5 at the state competition and qualifying for nationals. Congratulations to all of the students and ambassadors who represented the district so well.
Students from Colmer Middle School and Trent Lott Academy were also honored for outstanding performances at the Mississippi Beta Club State Convention, showcasing leadership, creativity and academic excellence.
