Distance Learning Information

Important Information

Daily Responsibilities
  • All students enrolled in distance learning will be required to completed 4.5 hours daily on Edgenuity.
  • Students will first login to Clever at this link:
  • Once logged in, students will click on the Edgenuity or Canvas icon.
    • Edgenuity is used for the following classes:
      • Math, English, Science, Social Studies (US History, MS Studies, World Geo), and Spanish 1
    • Canvas is used for the following classes:
      • 7th Grade ICT II and 8th Grade Keystone
  • Classes will be automatically loaded into Edgenuity or Canvas for the student. The student will be responsible for logging in and completing lessons and assigned tasks.
Attendance/Grades/Communication with Teachers
  • Students will be responsible for completing lessons and assigned work through Edgenuity or Canvas daily.
  • Teachers will monitor distance learning students' activity and communicate with students/parents if work is consistently not being completed.
  • Attendance will be recorded the following morning.
  • Students will need to fill out this Attendance Form DAILY: Attendance Form
    • Due to varying parent schedules, we understand the need for flexibility. Therefore, students have the opportunity to work on their own time, as long as 4.5 hours are completed daily.
    • Example: Monday, August 17 attendance will be recorded and input into system on the morning of Tuesday, August 18, to ensure that all students that completed 4.5 hours (regardless of the time) are given credit for "being present."
  • Parents and students can see grades in Edgenuity in real time.
  • Official grades recorded in SAM Spectra (activeparent/activestudent) for distance learners will only be input twice.
    • Teachers will post an official grade from Edgenuity in SAM at progress report time and again at the end of the 9 weeks.
    • Daily/Weekly grades from Edgenuity will not be posted in SAM, as they are readily available to the parents and students within Edgenuity. It is imperative that parents check grades frequently and consistently to make sure that their student does not fall behind.
  • Parents or students with questions or concerns about a course/material can contact the appropriate teacher on their schedule.
